Biography

Lina Manrique was born in Bogota, Colombia. 

In 2006 she moved to Switzerland to attend the audition in baroque violin for the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she was accepted and finished the Bachelor of Arts in Music under the tutelage of Professor Chiara Banchini and the Master of Arts in Music under the tutelage of Amandine Beyer.

 

While studying the baroque violin she discovers her passion for the Viola da Gamba. This takes her to be accepted for a Specialized Master in Viola ta Gamba at the SCB with Professor Paolo Pandolfo which she finished with honors.

 

She also finished a chamber music specialization at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg under the direction of Martin Gester with the grade Mention trés bien à l’unanimité.

 

She has taken part in many music festivals such as the Festival Internacional de Musica Renacentista y Barroca Misiones de Chiquitos in Bolivia, Utrecht Oude Muziek, Festival d'Ambronay, Bach Biennale Weimar, Ciclo Música Sacra Maestro de la Roza in Oviedo and the Festival Bach de Lausanne and played in renowned venues such as Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, Ishikawa Ongakudo Concert Hall, Essen Philharmonie, l'Opera de Paris, Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, Grand Théâtre de Reims, l'Opera de Touluse, KKL Luzern, Tonhalle Zürich, Stadtcasino Basel, among others.

She performs with both the Violin and the Viola da Gamba with renowned ensambles such as Gli Incogniti- Amandine Beyer, Les Musiciens du Louvre - Mark Minkovsky, Ensemble Elyma - Gabriel Garrido, Le Parlement de Musique, Il Divino Sospiro, Collegium Musicum de Lausanne, Capriccio Barockorchester Basel, La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, Bremer Barockorchester, Scherzi Musicali and the Theatro dei Cervelli among others.

 

At the same time she has developed an interest to music transcriptions and has worked in many opera productions and small projects with renowned theaters and musicians such as Theater Basel, Badishes Staats Theater Karlsruhe, Chiara Banchini, Edoardo Torbianelli, Gabriel Garrido and Paolo Pandolfo.
